I came across a social media post of a young woman who revealed in a light hearted way that she suffered from bedwetteng, or Nocturnal Enuresis, since several years. The amount of hate and comments that ridiculed her was not normal. I understand that social media is a cesspool where everyone can and thinks they can say anything, just for attention and to give themselves a feeling of superiority. But here they were often not anonymous heroes, but people who, in their own name, want to bring someone who has a medical condition that is still taboo to the attention in order to create awareness for something that they, and many others, are struggling with.
How difficult is it to look up the condition on the internet before writing a comment to belittle and ridicule someone? Then you would see that many people suffer from this and what an impact it has. Apparently many people think it is justified to belittle and personally attack someone who deviates from the norm in this area.
