It’s raining inside

A poem

Put the newspaper down
you’re not reading anyhow
just cry for a while.
Leaning against someone’s chest
would help tears come out best,
Just try to cry for a while.

Many suffer, you never complain
Ignoring pain is how you contain
so cry for a while
Comfort yourself in grief
is the best you can achieve
So cry for a while

Always strong, it’s not right
Not knowing how to go on in life
Cry for a while
When you have tears on your chin
maybe you think: I can feel again
If you cry for a while

Now look at yourself
That man behind the pain
Unfamiliar, a stranger unworthy to reign
Over a body a mind, supposed to be strong
But it is raining inside, tears that are wrong
Drowning the man that once was abide
To play by the rules, who put feelings aside

Cry for a while, let it flow inside
Show them your cheek, dry and unreal
Cry for a while, but always blend in
Never show your pain, how you really feel
Cry for a while, hold on to that last faith
That maybe you slip, once tears overspill
Then don’t cry for me, but remember my will
To end this fight and pay my life’s bill
